107 more DPS troopers on the road

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas highways are about to get a little safer.

The Texas Department of Public Safety graduated 107 new recruits on Friday. They are the newest highway patrol troopers after completing a 23-week recruit school

Vice Chair of the House Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee Allen Fletcher was the graduation ceremony speaker.

The graduates got their badges Friday 10 a.m. at Great Hills Baptist Church in Northwest Austin.
