AUSTIN (KXAN/AOL) — A Rhode Island developer is dealing with a mistake that may cost him $1.8 million — the estimated cost of a home accidentally built on public parkland, according to AOL.

The company reportedly needs to move the new waterfront mansion — in construction since 2009 — or tear it down.

Check out the rest of the crazy story.

If this sounds familiar, it may be because it’s ringing a bell of a similar situation here in Texas — where owners of a luxury home hanging off a crumbling cliff were forced to torch the home.

Of course, there were other options, one of which included carrying the home off the cliff with a huge net. Wonder where you’d find the net??!!
