Student with BB gun causes Manor HS to go into lockdown

MANOR, Texas (KXAN) — A student who was carrying a BB gun at Manor High School caused the school to go into lockdown on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Manor police, a parent who was picking up her child from the school around Noon told officers she saw a man with a handgun in the school courtyard.

Police quickly responded to the school ordering the lockdown of the Manor High School campus as well as Manor Middle School & Manor Elementary School.

Surveillance video showed a student walking on a sidewalk along the courtyard displaying what appeared to be a black handgun.

Officers and school officials were able to confirm the student’s identity.

One witness came forward and said he took the weapon from the subject and told the officers the weapon was actually a BB gun.

After talking to the parents and the student in question, the weapon was confiscated and confirmed as a BB gun.
