SWAT standoff ends after man had refused to come out of home

AUSTIN (KXAN) — SWAT officers were called to an apartment in Southeast Austin after a man barricaded himself inside a unit.

The tactical team arrived at 6118 Fairway Street, near Riverside Drive and Montopolis Drive, about 3 p.m.

Officers were conducting surveillance on a suspect at the apartment complex, police said. The man refused to come out of the home as they attempted to serve a warrant.

Police took the man into custody about 4:20 p.m.
