AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man is in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in the 1800 block of West Anderson Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Police said the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. in the westbound lanes of West Anderson Lane.

Initial information indicates a driver in a Jeep struck the pedestrian as he was crossing the street, but the crash did not happen in a crosswalk. The pedestrian was pinned underneath the vehicle but emergency crews were able to get him out within a few minutes.

Austin-Travis County EMS said the man in his 60’s was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with potentially life threatening injuries.
