Crash on Harris Branch Parkway kills 1, injures 3

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person was killed after being ejected from their vehicle in a Northeast Austin crash on Tuesday, and three others were seriously hurt.

Austin police said the two-vehicle crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on Harris Branch Parkway at East Parmer Lane.

Initial information indicates the driver of a car was traveling eastbound on East Parmer Lane when it collided with a pickup truck on Harris Branch Parkway.

The man driving the truck was ejected and died at the scene, according to police.

The driver of the car was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with serious injuries, while the two children in the car were taken to Dell Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have the intersection closed while they investigate the crash.
