CHANGSHA CITY, China (NBC/RTV) — An unusual sight has hit the roads of an eastern Chinese City.
This farmer-turned-inventor turns heads when he drives by on his motorized suitcase.
It’s an invention He Liangcai hopes will revolutionize personal transportation and luggage.
He has spent nearly 10 years developing the idea of a suitcase which doubles as an electric scooter.
The suitcase scooter weighs 15 pounds and can reach a top speed of up to 12 mph.
It’s also rechargeable, has a battery life of five- to six hours and can travel at a maximum distance of around 37 miles when fully charged.
Liangcai is confident the suitcase scooter will hit the spot with commuters.
He plans to sell it on the market for $600- to $4,800 — depending on the type of model.
Liangcai said inspiration for the idea came when watching tired travelers struggle to carry their heavy luggage.
