X Games fans departing Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — More than 160,000 people attended X Games over the course of four days. Many of them will be packing up and heading home Monday.

As a result, ABIA expects heavy traffic and urges travelers to be prepared.

More than 15,000 passengers flying out of the city passed through the TSA checkpoint on Friday, May 30.

One week later, during the X Games, the airport saw that number jump to nearly 18,000.

Saturday and Thursday also saw an increase.

The 2014 games attracted more fans of any X Games in the last decade. 92,000 people attended the 2013 Los Angeles games.
