DWI suspected in deadly Hutto crash

HUTTO, Texas (KXAN) — A Round Rock woman is in the Williamson County Jail after police say she was intoxicated at the time of a crash that killed another driver Saturday afternoon at the intersection of SH-130 and Highway 79 in Williamson County.

Police were called to the intersection around 3:30 p.m. Saturday where they discovered one driver was suffering from serious injuries and the other smelled of alcohol.

According to the probable cause document for her arrest, Jasmine L. Curtis, 23, admitted to drinking Canadian Mist whiskey earlier in the day. She later tested to have a blood alcohol content level of 0.143.

She was charged with intoxication manslaughter and driving while intoxicated following the crash.

The probable cause document for Curtis’ arrest shows there were three children, all under the age of 10, in her car at the time of the crash. The officer noted Curtis said she she was on her way back to her Round Rock home at the time of the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered significant injuries and later died at a local hospital. He has not yet been identified.
