Del Valle student charged with assaulting teacher

Michael-Guerrero

DEL VALLE, Texas (KXAN) – A 17-year-old Del Valle High School student was charged with assaulting a public servant after shoving a desk into a teacher on Friday, an arrest affidavit said.

A school resource officer reported seeing the student, Michael Guerrero, pick up a trash can and throw in down a hall, and later received a call from a teacher saying Guerrero was throwing items in her classroom.

When the officer entered the room, Guerrero was cursing and yelling and then told the officer to “take me to jail,” according to the affidavit.

The teacher said Guerrero had several similar outbursts throughout the school year and she “was tired of getting hurt by (his) actions,” the document said.

Bond was set at $4,000.
