AUSTIN (KXAN) — In case you’ve missed the story of profound friendship between “Mr. G” the goat the “Jellybean” the burro, here it is.

The AnimalPlace YouTube video says it’s a story about the transformation of Mr. G, who wouldn’t eat or move from his stall after being separated from his best friend Jellybean.

The backstory, as told in the video

Both animals were rescued from a hoarding case, living for years in neglect – having only each other’s company for solace.

Mr. G and Jellybean were separated when they were rescued after a sanctuary offered to take in Jellybean.

Mr. G fell into a deep depression and wouldn’t eat or come out of the corner of his stall.

After six days of refusing to eat because he missed his buddy, a volunteer decided it was time to reunite the old pals.

A 14-hour trip later, Mr. G perked up as soon as he heard Jellybean being unloaded and rushed out to meet him – not leaving his side.

Within 20 minutes of the reunion, Mr. G nibbled on food for the first time.

The powerful message on Animal Place’s post: “Animals have the ability to form friendships and feel deep emotions, just like us.”
