JARRELL, Texas (KXAN) — Investigators say an 11-year-old boy sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl at Jarrell Elementary School.

The students were unsupervised in the principal’s office at the time, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Fred Thomas told KXAN News.

The alleged incident is said to have taken place during the school day, according to a letter sent home to parents by the district’s superintendent.

“These types of incidents have no place in our schools,” Superintendent William Chapman said in the letter.

The allegations were reported to law enforcement and the district said it is working with authorities as the investigation continues.

The 11-year-old boy was taken to the Williamson County Juvenile facility.

The district added they would not be able to make any further comment because of the sensitive nature of the investigation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
