Man shot at least 3 times found at fast-food restaurant

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police found a man at a North Austin fast food restaurant suffering from at least three gunshot wounds Thursday night.

Authorities said they initially received a call about 9:30 p.m. and found the man at a Jack in the Box at Interstate 35 and Rundberg Lane with injuries to his stomach and chest.

Police believe the shooting may have happened at a nearby apartment complex located at 1088 Park Plaza Drive and that the man then drove himself to the restaurant.

The man was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge. The extent of his injuries were unknown, but authorities said the man was coherent and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Authorities are still looking for three men who were in a dark sedan in connection with the shooting.

Police tell KXAN News robbery detectives have been assigned to investigate the incident indicating the shooting may have stemmed from a robbery attempt.
