Investigation complete in Georgetown officer tripping case

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — The internal investigation launched after a Georgetown Police officer was caught on camera tripping students as they rushed the field following a state championship soccer match is now complete.

Police say Officer George Bermudez remains on paid administrative leave following the incident.

Georgetown police expect to release the outcome of the investigation in the coming days.

Bermudez has been with the department since 2005.
