Lone Star Fugitive Task Force snatches burglary, sex assault suspect

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force nabbed a man wanted for breaking into a woman’s home, strangling and choking her before sexually assaulting her.

Authorities said they received a tip that George Marker Rushton IV, 25, was in the Jonestown area so they commenced a surveillance operation in the 1100 block of North Bell Boulevard in Cedar Park. During the operation, they located Rushton while he was riding in the passenger seat of a car headed east on Farm to Market 1431 towards Cedar Park. They were able to stop the car and take him into custody at Williamson County Jail.

According to Williamson County authorities, Rushton was wanted for breaking and entering the home of a woman who he knew, then strangling and choking her before he sexually assaulted. He also had another charge out of Travis County for violating the terms of his probation pursuant to charges involving another home break-in with intent to commit sexual assault.
