Austin ISD picks firm to aid superintendent search

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin school board has selected Ray and Associates to search for a new superintendent.

The board approved the contract Wednesday that will cost an estimated $41,000. That expense though does not include advertising or candidate expenses for interviews.

The board will work with the firm on a timeline for the new superintendent, which is expected to take about a year.

Dr. Paul Cruz was appointed as interim superintendent during a special board meeting in April after former AISD superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen accepted the same position at Atlanta Public Schools.
