AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are searching for three men they believe are responsible for an East Austin shooting Saturday night.

Officers responded to the 6200 block of Duchess Dr at about 9:15 p.m. Police say the men forced their way into the home and shot a man in the forearm. The victim was transported to UMC – Brackenridge with non-life threatening injuries.

Two children were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

The homeowners do not speak English, so they did not understand what the suspects wanted, according to police.

The suspects, who are described as black males, fled the scene in a vehicle. Police continue their search for them.

There were initial reports of an additional victim, but the report was false, police said. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
