Second Trader Joe’s store to open in June

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A second Trader Joe’s grocery store is set to open in Northwest Austin on Friday, June 20.

The 13,500 square foot store will be located in the Arboretum Market Shopping Center open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Trader Joe’s, the quirky California-based specialty store, carries domestic and imported foods and beverages and its employees are known for donning Hawaiian shirts as uniforms.

The first Trader Joe’s opened last fall at 2805 Bee Cave Road in Rollingwood and a third store is planned to open in the Seaholm project downtown. That one is expected to open in 2015. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
