AUSTIN (KXAN) – Austin homicide detectives say the death of a man found near an East Austin creek is not suspicious in nature.

At about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, a woman on her way to work called 911 to report a dead body under the bridge in the 6600 block of Manor Road. That bridge stretches about 25 feet above Little Waller Creek.

APD officers found a man in his 60s dead. Austin-Travis County EMS dispatched medics, who were unable to revive the man.

Police believe the man’s death was the result of suicide.
