AUSTIN (KXAN) — East Austin will soon play host to more than 15 new eateries on the go.

GoodLife Food Park will be on the northeast corner of Cesar Chavez and Brushy streets, across Interstate 35 from downtown.

Project developers say they want the venue to be an upscale, clean place for people to eat. Vendors are excited about the new space.

“This is very exciting, especially downtown — being, you know, construction is everywhere,” said Chi’Lantro BBQ owner Jae Kim. “This is still in a prime location, where we’re able to come in here and able to serve our customers — which is great.”

This plot of land will have space for 17 trailers, picnic tables and a play area for kids.

Developers plan for the GoodLife Food Park to open June 1. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
