Motorcyclist killed in Southwest Austin crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in Southwest Austin on Sunday.

Authorities were dispatched to the 6900 block of Old Bee Caves Road, north of the Y at Oak Hill, at about 3:30 p.m.

Austin-Travis County EMS officials said the man was in his 50s.

Police say no other cars were involved in the crash, but they added that he was not wearing a helmet.

The man was pinned under the motorcycle. Medics attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Westbound lanes of Old Bee Caves Road were closed while Austin Police Department officers investigated.
