AUSTIN (KXAN) – The Austin ISD Board held a special meeting Saturday to consider their options for a new superintendent.

Board members heard from executive and recruitment companies that have helped other districts find superintendents. The board received proposals from four search firms last week. Two of them were present at Saturday’s meeting.

Dr. Paul Cruz was named interim superintendent after Dr. Meria Carstarphen left to lead Atlanta Public Schools.
