AUSTIN (KXAN) –  A man was charged with intoxication manslaughter in the deaths of an elderly couple in November.

According to police William Lawrence, 23, was driving on Highway 71 on Nov. 18, 2013 shortly after 10 p.m., when he crashed into the back of a van carrying Bobbie Jean Roberts,79, and 84-year-old Billy Mike Roberts. A toxicology test from the Department of Public Safety Crime Lab returned on May 4 detected PCP in Lawrence’s blood.

His bond was set at $40,000 and he was booked into jail on May 19. Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Lawrence at a home in Pflugerville about 11:30 a.m.
