AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police have identified the paddleboarder who went missing on Lady Bird Lake as 28-year-old Karl Savio Pimenta-Pereira.

Pimenta-Pereira’s body was found Sunday, several hours after he was reported missing by friends near Red Bud Isle. Medics received the first call Saturday about 7:05 p.m. and were on scene within 10 minutes, an AFD spokesperson said.

Medics shifted their search to recovery mode about 35 minutes later.

An Austin Police Department dive team assisted in the search.

No further details have been released about the incident.
