Man dies while fleeing from police on his motorcycle

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — A man fleeing from police died when he lost control of his motorcycle during the chase on Sunday.

San Marcos police said Charles Brandon Knowles. 25, was speeding down Interstate 35 northbound at 2:56 a.m. and would not stop when officers tried to catch up with him. Police said Knowles then exited the highway and starting driving down C.M. Allen Parkway and turned southbound on the West Access Road at the same speed.

Knowles was trying to turn under I-35 northbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown off, dying on impact. Emergency medical personnel declared him dead at the scene.

The Collision Investigation Team is still looking into this case.
