2-ton shipping container is tiny green home

BOULDER, Colo. (KUSA) — It’s quite a startling sight the first time you see one.

This shipping container on the street in Boulder, Colo., is actually a unique home.

A local startup company is turning these 2-ton crates into tiny abodes.

Called the Rhino Cube, it’s 9 feet tall and 20 feet long, and it’s fixed to the ground.

It’s filled with “green features,” including one designed to function totally off-grid.

The Rhino Cube comes in three different styles and ranges in price from a minimum $20,000 to as high as $60,000 for one with a full kitchen.
