STEPHENVILLE, Texas (AP) — A West Texas woman has been charged with aggravated kidnapping after a baby was abducted from outside a home in Stephenville but found hours later unharmed.

Erath County jail records show 38-year-old Latonya Suzette McLain of Dublin was being held Saturday on $50,000 bond.

Investigators say a tip help lead to the 2-month-old girl, who was located late Friday afternoon at the home of some relatives of the suspect near Dublin, about 10 miles away.

Police say McLain allegedly approached the child’s mother in a garage before taking the baby Friday morning. Stephenville police Chief Pat Bridges says McLain then allegedly told people that the child belonged to her.

Jail records do not list an attorney for McLain.

Stephenville is about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
