AUSTIN (KXAN) — When it comes to helping students get to college amid financial barriers, Education First approaches the sometimes-challenging task with a positive approach: glass half-full.

Fittingly, the organization is aiming to fill that glass with the help of the “Cheers to Education! Beer Tasting and Auction” event Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Austin Beerworks. Tickets for the scholarship fundraising event can be bought online.

Staffed 100 percent by volunteers, Education First provides college scholarships to low-income youth, and that means the organization’s funds go directly to students.
