UT student robbed at gunpoint near campus

UT STUDENT ROBBED

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A University of Texas student was robbed at gunpoint a few blocks west of campus Thursday afternoon, police said.

The robbery happened along Rio Grande Street between 21st Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 2:30 p.m.

The student was robbed of his personal belongings but was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with blonde curly hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie with blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone seeing a person matching this description is asked to call Austin police at 512-974-5270.
