AUSTIN (KXAN) — Severe weather is looming, are you ready?

KXAN offers severe weather alerts to warn our viewers about inclement weather and any other emergencies in the area. To sign up for KXAN text alerts click here, or you can sign up for KXAN email alerts here.

The Regional Notification System also sends alerts to all registered users to warn them about large-scale emergencies and major incidents in their area.

This system is free and covers Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis and Williamson Counties.Alerts will be sent out during during floods, ongoing law enforcement SWAT operations, wildfire outbreaks, and other emergency situations.

Users can register their cellphone, landlines, emails or pagers and can opt to get text, voice or email alerts. Residents in these areas can sign up for the emergency notifications here. Residents can also sign up through the phone by calling 866-484-3264.
