Couple stopped for speeding ends up in jail over pot

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A couple stopped for speeding on Wednesday near Schulenburg, Texas ended up in jail for pot possession.

Eric Glenn Miles, 23, and Beth Ann Mlcak, 25, were driving on Interstate Highway 10 when Deputy Rick Bohlmann stopped them for speeding. Bohlmann said he “became suspicious of their activity,” so he asked to search their car.

During the search Bohlmann said he found an ounce of hydro marijuana, smoking pipes, a scale, a grinder, a set of brass knuckles and a “brown, waxy, cannabis-based substance.” He took the couple to the Fayette County Justice Center where Miles and Mlcak were both charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of marijuana. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
