Firefighter falls through roof in apartment blaze

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (NBC/KPRC) — Some scary moments arose for one firefighter battling an apartment fire in Harris County, Texas.

The firefighter was on the roof of the smoldering apartment complex when part of the frame collapsed — sending him tumbling down. Other firefighters quickly came to his aid, and authorities say he was not injured.

One firefighter did suffer from heat exhaustion battling the fire.

The two-alarm blaze was captured on video by a witness at the scene, and you can see bright orange flames completely consumed the building.

An investigation is under way as to the cause of the fire.
