‘The Force’ accompanies thousands for ‘Star Wars’ race

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (NBC/APTN) — More than 4,000 people took part in a “Star Wars” race in Buenos Aires.

“Star Wars” fanatics on Saturday were joined by characters from the movie series, which is expected to release its seventh episode next year.

Participants ran wearing costumes featuring “Star Wars” characters, such as “Boba Fett,” “Princess Leia” and “Darth Vader.”

The themed marathon celebrated “Star Wars Day,” which is celebrated each year on May 4 by fans around the world.

The launch of a new “Star Wars” series will also be marked with a “Star Wars” movie marathon.

All episodes of the series will be shown in cinemas in Buenos Aires.
