Texas Rangers complete investigation into Cedar Creek High Tasing

BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Texas Rangers have finished their investigation into the case where a Cedar Creek High School teen, Noe Rivera, was Tased by a Bastrop County Sheriff’s deputy last year.

Adam Loewy, the Rivera’s family attorney, said he was notified of the completed report last week.

The case will now go to the Bastrop County Grand Jury for review.

Loewy also said the Department of Justice is currently conducting its own Federal criminal investigation of the incident. The FBI opened the case in February.

On Nov. 20, 2013, Rivera was Tased by School Resource Officer Randy McMillan. The two SROs on scene at the time of the incident, McMillan and Officer Tim Stalcup, said Rivera interfered with them as they were trying to break up a fight between two girls.

When Rivera was tased by McMillan, he fell to the ground, his his head and suffered a traumatic brain injury.
