DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) — A firefighter got hurt while fighting a house blaze in West Travis County on Wednesday evening.

According to the Lake Travis Fire Rescue, the fire started around 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Saddlehorn Drive, which is off Hamilton Pool Road.

When firefighters were fighting the fire, there was a partial collapse in the house, so they pulled everyone out and started fighting it defensively.

As of 8:45 p.m., fire officials said the fire is contained and they’re currently working on hot spots.

The firefighter who got hurt sustained a second-degree burn on his hands, but he is being treated at a nearby hospital and will be released soon. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
