AUSTIN (KXAN) — A fire that started in one Southeast Austin home on Monday afternoon spread to a second home.
According to the Austin Fire Department, the fire started around 5:40 p.m. in the 1800 block of Whitney Way.
When firefighters arrived at the home, there was heavy fire coming from the back of the single-story home. Firefighters were able to get to the home within two minutes, since there is a fire station nearby.
KXAN News was able to see smoke coming from the fire from our Austonian Camera.
According to AFD, the radiant heat from the original house damaged the eaves on a neighbor’s home.
The fire was under control within 20 minutes. No one was injured.
