Police arrest person who shot two Sunday morning

AUSTIN (KXAN)- Austin police now have a person in custody who they believe is responsible for shooting two people early Sunday morning.

Officers received a call from University Medical Center Brackenridge around 2:40 a.m. saying someone with a gunshot wound arrived at the hospital.

That victim said there was another person with a gunshot wound at the intersection of 11th Street and the Interstate 35 frontage road. Officers found that victim and took them to the hospital.

APD Watch Commander tells KXAN that the suspect knew the victims but is not believed to be a family member.

One of the victims is labeled as having life-threatening injuries.
