AUSTIN (KXAN)- Austin Police are searching for a driver suspected of fatally hitting a man with a vehicle.

A 911 caller reported finding a male body face-down and not breathing shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday near 500 South Mopac, on the western side of Zilker Park.

When police arrived, they found the man dead. Investigators believe he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene.

APD is asking for the public’s help identifying an important clue. Investigators believe a distinctive Easter Bunny antenna topper may have come from the car that hit the victim.

The vehicle will also have damage on the right front side, and possible damage to the passenger side window.

Call police if you have any information.
