Recovery teams find body of missing boater

TRAVIS COUNTY (KXAN) — Members of STARFlight, Austin-Travis County EMS medics, Texas Search and Rescue and Travis County Sheriff’s have found the body of a missing boater.

A canoe overturned on Lake Travis Saturday evening. Medics originally believed the male victim was submerged in an area with water 30-feet deep.

STARFlight rescue swimmers located the canoe and spent about 45-minutes searching for the victim before the operation transitioned to recovery mode.

The body was recovered at Pace Bend Park near 21611 Arrowhead Point just before 1 p.m. on Sunday.
