SOUTHWEST CHINA (NBC/CCTV VIA RTV) — Even giant pandas enjoy a late-night snack.

Cameras at a nature reserve in Southwest China caught a wild panda sitting on the ground and eating bamboo.

China Central TV said the footage was filmed on the night of Jan. 21.

The images will help scientists study the activities of giant pandas in the wild.

Another video clip and set of pictures taken by infrared cameras on Feb. 26 showed a panda walking in the woods. It’s unclear whether it was the same panda seen eating the late night snack.

According to CCTV, infrared cameras last captured images of a wild giant panda in September 2013.
