77-year-old survives hit by speeding train

RAJEC-JASTRABI, Czech Republic (NBC/RTV) — A man in the Czech Republic is lucky to be alive.

Police released surveillance footage of the moment an elderly man was hit by a speeding train last week.

The 77-year-old retiree is seen walking through a railroad crossing, seemingly unaware of the train which hit him.

The man was thrown to the ground, sending his shoe flying off.

Miraculously, he is seen getting up and walking away — apparently unscathed.

Local police said he suffered only minor injuries but will face a fine around $125.
