(CNN) — Here’s a story that might make you feel old: Nintendo’s iconic handheld device “Game Boy” turns 25 years old.

According to Gamespot, the original game boy first appeared on April 21, 1989.

Game Boy is widely viewed as the first portable gaming device to appeal to mainstream gamers.
