Leopard leaps wildly into panicked village

MAHARASHTRA, India (NBC/RTV) — A leopard hiding on a rooftop frightened residents of a village in western India.

There were moments of panic as the leopard pounced after it was discovered on Monday.

People ran, and so did the leopard.

It jumped from roof to roof, darted through streets, and eventually retreated into the bathroom of a hut.

The leopard stayed low as it peered over a wall inside the hut.

The Forestry Department eventually caught the leopard and released it into the wild.
