A Texas group says their survey shows marijuana regulation may be more popular than football in Texas.

Progress Texas surveyed more than 9,000 people. 92.6% of respondents said they are behind total decriminalization. 98.3% support medicinal use, and 91.7% support full regulation.

“I think that we could recalibrate the laws and adjust them a bit just to make it more fair,” said Phillip Martin, Deputy Director of Progress Texas. “We don’t need to send someone to jail just for small possession or use. It’s not a good use of taxpayer money and it follows somebody for the rest of their life.”

The confidential survey was launched in early April.
