Man accused of stealing money at Reggae Fest

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was arrested Friday after a police officer said he witnessed him stealing money at the entrance of the 2014 Austin Reggae Festival, which benefits the Capital Area Food Bank.

Austin Police said 24-year-old Kieth Vienn was working at the entrance gate of Reggae Fest. They said he stole $1,191 dollars by hiding it in his sleeve and pocket.

Food bank officials issued a statement Saturday.

“The Food Bank relies heavily on the support of volunteers to accomplish its mission of nourishing hungry people and leading the community in ending hunger,” Hank Perret, Capital Area Food Bank CEO, said. “This isolated incident was unfortunate, but we’re thankful for the ongoing support of the Reggae Festival and the difference it makes in our community.”

Vienn was in the Travis County Jail on a $2,500 bond. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
