Man found in drainage ditch is city’s latest homicide victim

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The death of a man found Monday in a North Austin drainage ditch has been ruled a homicide.

Bart A. Hollis’s body was found along West Parmer Lane near MoPac about 2 p.m. Detectives said the 53-year-old man suffered obvious trauma to his body.

An autopsy performed Tuesday by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death as a homicide.

Police plan to talk more about the man’s death on Thursday.
