Attempted kidnapping of child reported near Running Brushy MS

CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) —  Cedar Park police said they’ll have extra patrols out before and after school in response to an attempted abduction near Running Brushy Middle School.

A girl told authorities she was walking westbound on West Whitestone Boulevard near Bagdad Road around 8:25 a.m. when a man approached her from behind on Wednesday.

The student said the man grabbed her wrist and arm, but when she started screaming and kicking, the man let her go and ran away.

The student then ran to the Running Brushy MS and reported what happened to an adult.

The description of the male is as follows:

  • White male in his mid 20’s.
  • Approximately 6’ feet tall with a muscular build
  • Blondish-brown hair with a “buzz” cut style
  • Light complexion and an unshaven appearance
  • Last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt (no color given)

The principal of Running Brushy MS sent home a letter to parents on Wednesday afternoon reminding families to be mindful of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
