Kyle murder suspect in custody

KYLE, Texas (KXAN) — Michael Trejo is in custody for a murder that happened early Monday morning in the Bluebonnet Estates Mobile Home Park, according to Kyle police.

At 2:00 a.m., they responded to calls about shots fired on Del Ray Drive. When they got there, they found the body of 23-year-old Carlos Edward Fernandez.

Police had responded to a disturbance just three hours before at the nearby intersection of Fountain Grove Drive and Antelope Hills Drive.  At that time, they interviewed Fernandez as a witness and arrested Christopher Vacuna, 18, for allegedly discharging a weapon. They charged him with deadly conduct.

Just before 10 p.m. on Monday, Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said a murder warrant for Michael Trejo, 18, was issued.

Trejo is currently in the Williamson County Jail on an unrelated charge stemming from a motor vehicle accident earlier Monday morning.
