Central Texans celebrate Palm Sunday

AUSTIN (KXAN) — People packed the pews at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and many other Austin churches, for Palm Sunday.

Austin Bishop Vasquez Joe Vasquez led the service at St. Mary’s. It’s day of remembrance for many Christians.

“Palm Sunday is very important for Catholics, and all other Christian denominations, today, will be celebrating and honoring and remembering Palm Sunday and beginning Holy Week Services,” said Rosy Jalifi, Parishoner at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Bishop Vasquez will lead services on Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.
