Texas QB David Ash out for spring with fractured foot

AUSTIN (KXAN) — University of Texas quarterback David Ash is out for the remainder of spring practice after sustaining a fracture in his left foot during practice.

Ash will undergo surgery next week, head athletic trainer Anthony Pass said Friday.

The senior is expected to return to action in time for preseason camps in the fall, Pass added.

Ash was sidelined for much of last season after suffering a concussion in the second game of the season against BYU. Ash returned two weeks later against Kansas State but was benched after the first half and did not play the rest of the season.
